This office holds civil records for non-catholic Births, Deaths and Marriages from 1st April 1845, and from 1st Jan 1864 for Catholics. If you can provide sufficient information, then you can obtain a photocopy of the relevant entry from their archives.

Opening Hours

Monday to Friday, (excluding public holidays) from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. 
and from 2.15 p.m. to 4.30 p.m


In the reading room of the office there are two types of search that can be carried out

A specific search of up to 5 years for £1.50 (US$2.37)
A more general search for one day of all years for £12  (US$18.96)

There is also a photocopying service available at a rate of £1.50 per copy (US$2.37)


The indexes are built on a yearly and quarterly format. Note that if a birth was registered late it will appear at the back of the relevant index. Once you find an entry of interest in the index, note the Volume and Page, or also the Number and Quarter to let you apply for a copy of the record from Microfilm.
